Gaziosmanpaşa (GOP) University is not only a university for Tokat; is a stakeholder in the development of agricultural and industrial sectors. For the development of these sectors, Social and Economic Research Application and Research Center, Agricultural Application and Research Center and Scientific and Technological Research Application and Research Center are active within the University. The University of GOP, METU's 2010-2016 academic year, and the Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index prepared by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) ranked among the top 50 universities in the 2013-2016 rankings.
The ecological conditions of the province enable product variety, second crop and winter vegetable cultivation. In 2017; A total of 76 product varieties were produced in 39 countries.
